Abstract

Metabolic syndrome (MS) is a multifactorial disorder and educational technologies (ET) are one of the strategies indicated for its intervention. The objective was to analyze in the literature the use of educational technologies in the monitoring of patients with metabolic syndrome. It was an integrative review, in which the selection of articles was carried out in the databases of SCIELO, PUBMED and LILACS between the years 2015 to 2020. 186 articles were identified, of which 09 were selected to compose the study. The results revealed that the use of ET in the treatment or prevention of MS obtained advantages, both in the follow-up of the adult and elderly population, as well as in adolescents. The TE resources used were: exercise training supported by telemonitoring, Weight control program offered by social media (application), booklet, Exergame, and Nutritional education program with peer support. Concludes, the use of ET reduces the risk of complications caused by MS, reaching an improvement in mental health, the ability to perform work and a positive impact on lifestyle.
