Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To identify humanization actions in the care of premature infants. METHOD: This is an integrative literature review, from August to December 2019. The databases were: BDENF, LILACS, INDEX PSICOLOGIA E COLECIONA SUS, based on the keywords kangaroo method, premature newborn and humanization. Studies published between 2014 and 2018, in Portuguese, with Brazil as the country of origin and full articles, were included. RESULTS: The importance of humanized care with the NB and their parents was identified, thus being able to minimize future damage and provide less painful experiences, considering that families express feelings such as sadness, anguish, guilt and fear during the hospitalization of their children . CONCLUSION: It is understood that it is essential that the health professional favors the affective bonds between the family, empowering mothers and fathers to care for the premature and, in the future, improving the quality of life of these families.
