Relationship Between Vitamin D Levels and Intestinal Dysbiosis in Children and Adolescents. A systematic review protocol

There is no consensus on the vitamin D status of children and adolescents with intestinal dysbiosis. Prolonged vitamin D deficiency can lead to health problems, such as strong associations between immunogenic issues of the intestine and its microbiota. Background: To demonstrate the relationship between vitamin D levels and intestinal dysbiosis in children and adolescents. The Databases to be used for the systematic review, for the period from July 2021 to December 2021: PubMed, Science Direct Database, Scopus Database, Ebsco Information Service and Cochrane Library. Only original studies carried out in children and adolescents will be included, with no restriction on language and publication date. Two independent researchers will operate the retrieval of articles, removal of duplicates, screening, quality assessment and data analysis, descriptive analyzes will be performed based on the conditions of the data included in childhood from 09 to 17 years old, of both sexes. Results: The association between vitamin D and intestinal dysbiosis in children and adolescents raises the need for more robust evidence on the subject. Therefore, the importance of this review to compose the current evidence is highlighted. Conclusion: This study may provide evidence on the relationship between vitamin D levels and dysbiosis in children and adolescents. Registration number PROSPERO 2020 CRD CRD42020196566.
