Long-term care facilities are high-risk sites for SARS-CoV-2 transmission among residents and staff, so early detection can be performed using comorT-PCR (reverse transcription followed by polymerase chain reaction) tests. and serological. The objective was to identify the scientific evidence available in the publications of SCIELO, PUBMED, MEDLINE, PORTAL BVS, SCOPUS and CINAHL on early detection of SARS-CoV-2 in Long-Term Care Institutions for the Elderly. This is ScopingReview driven by recommendations fromThe Joanna BriggsInstitute(JBI),InstituteReviewer'sManual. The search for articles was performed using descriptors and keywords that addressed the topic of interest. The articles presented the importance of the T-PCR tester for the elderly, serological test, but without specification, certain articles addressed the importance of imaging in the elderly, clinical and epidemiological criteria. Early detection involves health professionals in the collection of rT-PCR, serological tests, and tests on unspecified employees. It is important that ILPIs break down, in their contingency plans, the strategies to control the COVID-19 pandemic, explaining the frequency of collection of exams, as well as specifying the type and situation of application.
