Results: It was possible to identify two categories: welcoming and humanization in the care provided and the importance of faith and religion to face difficult news during the hospitalization of children. Conclusion: The way parents are received makes all the difference in the relationship with the newborn and its treatment, requiring trained professionals who are sensitized to this care. Being able to also use faith and religion for an approach or as support to face difficult times.
