The aim was to analyze the action of acupuncture in the induction to the labor. It is an integrative review held in databases: MEDLINE, LILACS, BDENF, from January 2006 to July 2017 with the use of keywords: "acupuncture" associated with "induction of childbirth", "labor" and "giving birth". 10 eligible studies were selected. The analysis of the articles resulted in the categories: acupuncture points used in the induction of childbirth and effective acupuncture's effectiveness not on labor induction. It is concluded that the studies differ on the effectiveness of acupuncture in inducing and labor, so we suggest new studies focusing on Association of acupuncture and other therapies in the induction and labor, allowing new outcomes the woman during childbirth.
